THE SPLENDID TABLE'S TURKEY CONFIDENTIAL

Turkey Confidential is The Splendid Table’s annual Thanksgiving show. Francis Lam takes calls and comes to the rescue of Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers, and dinner guests during the biggest cooking day of the year.

As in 2020, the program for 2021 will be file based - the show will be fed "live" at noon, though files will be available 1-2 days prior to Thanksgiving Day if stations prefer to air earlier in the morning. Please let your Station Relations Representative know if you'd prefer to receive the file early.

Host

Francis Lam
Francis Lam took over the program from long-time host Lynne Rossetto Kasper in January 2018. A regular contributor and frequent guest host on The Splendid Table since 2010, Lam is the former Eat columnist for The New York Times Magazine and is Editor-at-Large at Clarkson Potter, a division within Penguin Random House that is a leader in cookbook publishing. For two seasons, Lam was a regular judge on Bravo's hit show, Top Chef Masters. An award-winning writer, Lam has written for numerous publications, including Gourmet, Bon Appetít, Food & Wine, Lucky Peach, Saveur, Salon, Men's Journal, and the Financial Times. He graduated first in his class at the Culinary Institute of America and holds a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies and Creative Writing from the University of Michigan. He lives with his family in New York City.

Affiliate stations must carry this program on Thanksgiving Day (November 25, 2021). The program must be carried in its entirety. No excerpting is permitted. Simulcast streaming rights are available for this program. Stations are strongly encouraged to carry both hours; however, the hours are discreet and stations may carry either. Prior to carrying this program, stations must contact their American Public Media Station Relations Representative.
