Guests include: Denise Herzing, researcher for the Wild Dolphin Project in Jupiter, Florida; Michael Zasloff, professor at the Georgetown University School of Medicine; Laura Engleby, a researcher with the Dolphin Ecology Project in St. Petersburg, Florida; Alicia Bitondo, octopus expert from the Monterey Bay Aquarium; Brett Grasse, manager of cephalopods at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Brains On! is an award-winning audio show for kids and families. Each week, a different kid co-host joins Molly Bloom to find answers to fascinating questions about the world. Our mission is to encourage kids' natural curiosity and wonder using science and history…but there's no age limit on curiosity, and episodes of Brains On! can be enjoyed by anyone.


Molly Bloom

Molly Bloom is the host, co-creator and co-producer of Brains On! Her work with Brains On! has been featured on Science Friday and WNYC's The Takeaway, as well as written about in The Atlantic and The Economist. As a digital producer for MPR News she produced a series of Emmy Award-winning videos explaining complicated civic issues, like a proposed voter ID amendment and a complicated dispute over a new light rail line. She was also the co-host and producer of the award-winning Electionwise podcast, which covered the 2008 election. She has worked at American Public Media since 2006.
